I'm Lawrence Nyabanga, the Founder and CEO of the Lawrie Group, a global company with a significant footprint in Africa. As a proud African entrepreneur, I'm deeply passionate about Africa's potential to emerge as a powerhouse in the global arena.

I grew up in a modest household, where my parents worked tirelessly to provide for our family. Upon completing my O-levels, I took on the role of a till operator at a local butcher shop in Budiriro 5 to support my family and fund my education. However, the rigid schedule at the butcher shop posed a challenge to my academic aspirations. Determined to pursue my dreams, I made the bold decision to leave my job and venture into entrepreneurship. I became a vendor, selling brushes and mops in South Africa. Despite the obstacles I faced, my determination to succeed as an entrepreneur never wavered.

I have always believed in the potential of Africa to become a powerhouse one day. I started my entrepreneurial journey with a small one-man auto retail parts shop in downtown Harare, Zimbabwe. Over the years, we have expanded our operations to become a global player with a special focus on the growth of the African diaspora. We now have footprints in four African countries and counting, and our interests span warehousing, distribution and logistics, media, finance, renewable energy, automotive, and more.

We are also grateful to the societies that have nurtured us and given us the valuable employees who push our vision forward day in and day out.
